The owner of a small fisheries shop opens a modern fabric for fish processing
Alexander Spasov starts his business in 1991, when he opens a small fish shop in the center of Sofia. For 22 years the shop on 26, Ekzarh Yosif Str. offers to the clients fresh, frozen and conserved fish, fruits de mer and caviar. Progressively the business of Alexander Spasov grew and he started to do gross commerce.
In the beginning of 2012 the firm prepares a project for the construction of a fish processing fabric with a refrigerated warehouse. The investment amounts to 2,5 million leva. The company applies for a subsidy in the framework of the Measure 2.6 „Investment in processing and marketing of fisheries and aquaculture products” foreseen by the Operational Program for Fisheries and Aquaculture. The project is financed with a bank loan for the amount of 1,6 million leva. The assets financed under the project served as collateral for the loan, as well as the guarantee of the NGF for the amount of 800 thousand leva.
In the end of December 2012, 8 months after the signature of the agreement with the Executive Agency for Fisheries and Aquaculture, the modern plant in Vrajdena, Sofia is already finished. It is equipped with the latest technologies and it provides work for 28 people. Part of the production is sold in the internal market and the other part is exported to countries, such as Germany or Greece. Soon a shop of the firm is going to be opened.
